450 KG MEXICAN DIES OF HEART ATTACK


Jose Luis Garza, who weighed a whopping 450kg, has died of heart failure despite emergency officials had to destroy his bedroom wall and put him in the back of a pickup truck so he could be taken to hospital.

But the 47-year-old of Juarez was pronounced dead on arrival at a hospital in northern Mexico.
Garza followed in the footsteps of the world's fattest man, fellow Mexican Manuel Uribe of Monterrey, by taking his weight problem public.

Uribe, whose record weight of 560kg earned him a place in the 2008 Guinness Book of Records, has claimed to have lost around 250kg by dieting.

Garza said he had always struggled with his weight but fell into a cycle of depression and began overeating nine months ago after his parents died.

He had not left his bed for four months and his condition deteriorated over the weekend as he struggled to breathe and eat



n enormous coffin had to be constructed and his burial was delayed as cemetery workers enlarged the grave.

A funeral home worker Maribel Cantu told the Associated Press: "The family wanted to cremate him but there wasn't an adequate oven for someone his size. He is the biggest man we have buried."
